Purely Pomegranate Thank You

Oh, thank goodness it's my Friday, Yay!!! So, I thought I would treat myself to a little card making after work (my own little shot of therapy!) I guess I was in a pinky kind of mood tonight. I love Stampin' Up's purely pomegranate and wanted to make a different kind of card so I went with the center fold card. I really like these because they show off both the image and a lot of the patterned paper. I started with textured PP (Purely Pomegranate) colored paper, then covered the flaps of the card with SU's new Designer Paper, Bali Breeze. I stamped the image in PP ink onto to rose red paper. I then used my ticket punch to punch the corners then mounted it on a scrap of PP cardstock. I stamped the same image again and then cut it out. I applied little dabs of two way glue onto the flower dots then used glitter for extra sparkle. I then used my SU dimensionals and adhered my cut image over the first image. I ran PP ribbon around the card on both sides so the card still opens freely without having to untie the ribbon. I added rhinestones to the center of the flower, the corners and some on the thank you at the bottom. I hope you enjoy and have a good Friday.. I am off to see the gals at my favorite stamp store tomorrow. I am so excited....mini ROAD TRIP!!! Have a great weekend. ~Nicole

Expressing Gratitude

Hello there! I am posting this while watching my beloved American Idol. Simon seems a little nicer tonight... we will see, it is only half way through! Anyway, I made this clipboard some time ago for my friend Kate (hi Katie) and I asked her if I could borrow it tonight so I could post it. I really liked the way it came out and I thought I would make a little notecard to match. I actually did not use any of my very favorite Stampin' Up stamps tonight, but my other favorite place to shop for stamps, Impress Rubber Stamps. I love their simple, clean designs and I should own stock in this store too, because whenever we head up to Seattle area, I ask my husband to drop me off and I just walk aimlessly through the store getting tons of ideas and making their make and takes! Please check it out if you are ever up in that area. The paper on the clipboard is from Scenic Route and I just painted it with ivory craft paint and then added the paper and the embellishments, and some velvet ribbon. The top gets cut off but I tied on various colors of matching ribbon to the top of the clipboard. The card is SU chocolate chip, ivory, and chocolate chip and Cool Carribean ink. I hope you enjoy and thanks so much for taking a peek. Back to American Idol.. have a great rest of the evening! ~Nicole

Closer Look of Card and Clipboard

Ginger Blossom Monday

Monday, Monday! Gosh, when that alarm goes off on Monday morning, I want to pull the covers over my head and pretend it really isn't happening, but eventually, I get up, kiss my yorkie, and then get with it and start the day and a nice day it was! I am still SUPER excited about this beautiful Ginger Blossom paper.. It looks so nice with the groovy guava paper. I still had my Lots of Scallops set out on my desk so I put it to use again. I made my baby card and thought I would like to make a similar one with different colors and image for an everyday card. I used the textured Groovy Guava paper, my polka dot background stamp (love this background stamp) and then layered it with the Ginger Blossom paper, groovy guava ribbon and stamped the flower image in Groovy Guava then added a large adhesive pearl to the center and mounted it with SU dimensionals. Another quick and simple one to make! I am heading up to one of my favorite stamp stores in Seattle this weekend, so I look forward to some new things to share! Okay, getting sleepy, time to relax and enjoy the rest of the evening. Hope you do the same!~Nicole

Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star

Happy Sunday! There has been so many new babies born recently, including a new addition to the family, Brycen Christopher, who was born last month! He is so cute and so tiny and we just love him! When I get a new picture from his mommy and daddy, I will be sure and post it! So, in honor of all of those new little babies in the world, I thought I would use this new SAB So Many Scallops set again and make a baby card! You know, the one thing I absolutely love about Stampin' Up is the way they coordinate everything to match. I used the Stampin' Up Special Boy Scrappin' Kit for the patterned paper, soft sky paper, wild wasabi ribbon, and my swirl star stamp from Impress. I used SU Marigold Morning ink for the image and yellow stickles to add a touch of glitter to the stars! Click on the picture to see the background a little better. Hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend! Another sunny day here in the Couv, hee hee (Vancouver that is)!

Trevor and Lilly!

Good Evening! We just got home from my mom's house and had a great time. We had chili night, yummm-o! We were celebrating my nephew, Trevor's 12th birthday (yay Trevor!) He was so excited and what do you think a twelve year old would want for his birthday??, loadable Visa cards! Yep, well, he was SO happy since he received two of them! I can't wait to see what he decides to buy? Another cell phone, a video game, something computerized or digital I am sure.. He loves his gadgets! Happy Birthday my sweet! We also wanted everyone to see my mom's adorable little girl, Lilly Kate, so I had to snap a picture of them both.. two cuties! I have another card project I will post tomorrow, but I wanted to share this with you before I hit the sack!... Have a great night. ~Nicole

Sweet Scallops

I am so excited. I just received my new FREE SAB (Sale-a-bration) SU! sets and I just had to sit down and make a couple of cards with them last night. I really REALLY love the So Many Scallops set. It works perfectly with the scallop punch and there is such a variety of things you can use this set for. I used a Stampin' Up retired set for the stems of the flowers. I used the Ginger Blossom SU! Designer Paper for the background and the In Color Textured Card stock for my base. I love those In Colors and played them up by using the same ink and ribbon colors; River Rock (stems), Ruby Red and Groovy Guava (flower petals), and River Rock ribbon. I added a sweet little pearl (K & Company) to the center of the flower! I will post a couple of more this weekend using this set, I just couldn't stop! Please check back by... have a great weekend. It is beatifully sunny today, time to get ready and step out into it! Bye for now... ~Nicole

Feeling Springy!

Well, it feels a little like spring around here today... we saw the sun for most of the afternoon! Oh, and check out the lunar eclipse tonight. It is really neat and so clear out, you can see it so well. Since it felt a little like spring I thought I would make a card to celebrate (a little early!) I found this cute stamp in the 1.00 stamp bins at Michaels, along with several cute easter stamps too. I used Groovy Guava, Kraft and Wild Wasabi, and a little chocolate chip too. I colored in the image with my blender pens and my ink pads. I also added some rhinestones, SU wild wasabi brads, and of course a little glitter! Okay, time to go take another look at the moon. Enjoy.. have a great night.

Pick a Petal

Good Evening! Here is another thank you card I whipped up.. I saw one similar to this on the Stampin' Up website and thought I would pull out this set and make one. I used SU's Pick a Petal and stamped the flower petals in white craft ink, then outlined it with the open petal in Chocolate Chip. Paper: SU Kraft, Chocolate Chip, and Blue Bayou. I also used SU polka dot background stamp and stamped it in Versamark onto the Blue Bayou paper and used Blue Bayou ribbon. Oh, and of course a rhinestone in the center to finish it off Thanks for looking!

Oh, So Lovely Thank You

I haven't used this set in a while and don't really know why since I really like it so much and it can be used for so many different occasions! I used SU's Oh, So Lovely set for this thank you card and really love the SU In Colors, Wild Wasabi and Soft Sky. I used a blender pen and the Wild Wasabi and Soft Sky ink pads to color in the berries and the leaves. I also used the polka dot background stamp in soft sky.and SU Whisper White Paper cut with scallop scissors. More Soft Sky for the ribbon. Thanks so much for looking!

Happy Puppy Monday!

I know this isn't a picture of a card project but I just had to share the new addition to the family. My mom's dog Chelsea passed away a couple of months ago and after some thought we knew my mom wanted another dog to cuddle with. Chelsea was the best dog ever and we will miss her always, but we were introduced to a precious little girl that my mom had to have. She named her Lilly Kate and I wanted to share her with you. She is only about eight weeks old and my mom just brought her home yesterday. My yorkie Oliver was over there for the weekend while my husband and I were away and he had the best time with his new little buddy! Welcome Lilly Kate.. we love her so much already. Have a great day! ~ Nicole

Blissful Criss Cross Cards

We made these at a craft night my friend and I hosted right before Valentine's Day. It was a lot of fun and it was great to see the variations on these criss cross cards. Iused the SU! One of a Kind Stamp set and Pretty in Pink and Close to Cocoa paper and ink. Have a great night!

Valentine Mailbox

I made my first Valentine Mailbox. I can't believe I haven't made a ton of these already. They are so fun and so cute to give as gifts! Yes, they are the Target $1.00 mailboxes and I have hoarded about twenty of these. I think I may need to share these at some point! Have a great day ~ Nicole
